WORKSHOPS

Megan teaches and leads workshops on poetry, recitation, composition, and oral communications; presents poetry and craft talks; and has served as a one-on-one writing mentor to writers of many levels. She has worked with adults, at-risk youth, and college and high school students, serving a number of schools and organizations.

She has taught workshops, presented talks, and served as a mentor for:

The Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance; The Robert Frost Foundation; Alaska's Wrangell Mountains Center; The Telling Room; Windhorse Studio’s Contemplative Eco Arts Workshops; Cape Elizabeth High School’s Zimprich Symposium; The Maine Arts Commission’s Poetry Out Loud Workshops (with Maine Poet Laureate Wesley McNair and poet Gibson Fay-LeBlanc); The Yarmouth Library; Mayo Street Arts’ Children’s Puppet Workshop; Southern Maine Correctional Facility, with Monica Wood’s program “Meet the Authors”; The Art at Work project “Thin Blue Lines,” paired with a Portland Police Officer; Project AWARE, at Long Creek Youth Development Center; and in private tutorials.

Megan is excited for new occasions to teach, present talks, and guide writers seeking to hone their craft. Contact her at mgrumbling(at)hotmail(dot)com.
